İsim cümleciklerinde QW?ların kullanımını, normal soru cümleleri ile karıştırmamak gerekir. Bir soru cümlesinde QW?lar daima cümlenin başında söylenir ve cümle sonunda soru işareti vardır. Sour sözcüğü olsun veya olmasın bir soru cümlesinde yardımcı fiil vardır ve özneden önce yazılır. Bazen bu kural konuşma dilinde ihmal edilse de cümlenin soru olduğunu hissettirecek bir vurgu mutlakavardır.
What can I do for you? (Sizin için ne yapabilirim?)
Where are you going? (Nereye gidiyorsun?)
When will you come back? (Ne zaman döneceksiniz?)
How long will you be staying here? (Burada ne kadar süre kalacaksınız?)

There is some ice in the fridge.(Buzdolabında biraz buz var.)
We made some mistakes. (Bazı yanlışlar yaptık.)
She said something. (Birşey söyledi.)

8. Sınıf Konusu=Too-Enough ==Konu Tekrarı Yapılması İçin..
TOO, ENOUGH
TOO
Burada too nun sıfatlarla ve zarflarla kullanılışını göreceğiz. Sıfatlar ve zarflarla kullanıldığı zaman aşırılık ifade eder. Sözlük manası “çok” demektir. Fakat yine de çok manasına gelen very den oldukça farklıdır.
The tea is very hot.
The tea is too hot.
Birinci cümlede “Çay çok sıcaktır”. Fakat yine de içilebilir. İkinci cümlede “Çay çok sıcaktır”. Fakat içilemez.
Şimdi too nun kullanımını örnek cümlelerle görelim. Örneklere bakıldığı zaman daha iyi anlaşılacaktır.
The tea is too hot to drink. Çay içilemeyecek kadar sıcak.
The weather is too cold to go out. Hava dışarı çıkılamayacak kadar soğuk.
The dog was running too fast to catch. Köpek yakalanamayacak kadar hızlı koşuyordu.
The sun is shining too brightly to look at. Güneş bakılamayacak kadar parlak bir vaziyette ışık saçıyor.
He is too merciful to punish anyone. Hiç kimseyi cezalandırmayacak kadar merhametli.
İsim ya da zamir kullanarak da cümle kurmak mümkündür.
The ceiling is too high for me to touch. Tavan dokunamayacağım kadar yüksek.
A cow is too big for two people. Bir inek iki kişiye çok.
Mr Sparrow was talking too fast for the tourists to understand. Bay Sparrow turistlerin anlayamayacağı kadar hızlı konuşuyordu.
The father spoke too authoritatively for his children to oppose to his orders. Baba çocuklarının emirlerine itiraz edemeyecekleri kadar otoriter konuştu.
ENOUGH
Sıfatlarla ve zarflarla birlikte kullanıldıkları zaman onlardan sonra gelir. Bu şekilde kullanılışıyla too dan ayrılır. Çünkü sıfatlardan ve zarflardan önce gelir. Too aşırılık ifade ederken, enough tam tersine, yeterlilik ifade eder.
He is only fifteen years old. Daha onbeş yaşında.
He isn’t old enough to marry. Evlenecek yaşta değil.
This car is big enough for a large family. Bu araba büyük bir aileye yetecek kadar büyük.
My dog can run fast enough to catch your horse. Benim köpeğim senin atını yakalayacak kadar hızlı koşabilir.
If you don’t study hard enough, you can’t pass your class. Eğer yeteri kadar çok çalışmazsan sınıfını geçemezsin.
Aynen too da olduğu gibi enough isim ve zamirlerle de kullanılabilir.
The ceiling isn’t low enough for me to touch. Tavan benim dokunabileceğim kadar alçak değil.
Why don’t you speak loudly enough for everybody to hear? Niçin herkesin duyabileceği kadar yüksek sesle konuşmuyorsun?
İsimlerle kullanıldığı zaman enough isimlerden önce kullanılır. İsimler hem sayılabilen hem de sayılamayan isimler olabilir.
My brother doesn’t have enough money to buy a modern car. Kardeşimin modern bir araba alacak kadar parası yok.
Are there enough apples for all of us at home? Evde hepimize yetecek kadar elma var mı?

Because, so, but !
''Because'' bildiğin gibi sebep cümlelerini kurarken kullanıyoruz.2 cümleyi bağlamak için kullanıyoruz ve 1.cümleden sonra because yazıyoruz ve sebep cümlesini getiriyoruz. Eğer cümlende sebep cümlesini başa getirirsen 2 cümle arasına virgül koyarız. Ayrıca because cümlesinde zaman kalıbı yoktur, hangi zamana çekimleyeceksen o şekilde yazarsın. Örneğin; ''Because we didn’t have classes on Monday, we went to the lake. ''Yani , pazartesi dersimiz olmadığı için göle gittik,cümlesini kuruyoruz. Gördüğün gibi burda because başa geldi ve 2 cümle arasına virgül koyduk.
''So'' ise bağlacı bir durumun sonucunu söylerken, iki cümleyi bağlamak için kullanılır. “So” dan sonra sonuç cümleciği gelir. İkinci cümle olarak kullanılır. Örneğin; My car was out of gas, so we went to Ankara in Hasan’s car. (Benim arabamın benzini yoktu, bu yüzden Ankara’ya Hasan’ın arabasıyla gittik.)
''But'' ise ama, fakat manasına gelir. Örneğin; I ate ice-cream but Ayşe didn’t eat.

Garip olmasına rağmen doğru bir düşüncedir ki, Shakespeare' in dili Bill Gates' in diliyle aynıdır.
"English" sözcüğü Anglelar'dan türedi.
Vikingler birçok Eski Norveç kelimesi getirdiler: Sky, egg, cake, leg, skin, husband, fellow, skill, anger, flat, odd, uply, get, give, take, call, raise, die, their, they, them. Fakat İngilizce "nothyrl" modern dildeki "nostril" oldu. Diğer örnekler: Anger (Norse)-wrath (English), nay-no, fro-from, raise-rear, ill-sick, bask-battle, skill-craft, skin-hide, dike-ditch.
Antarktika, Antigua, Aruba (Hollanda), Ascension Adası, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize (İngiliz Hondurası), Diego Garcia (Büyük Britanya & ABD), Dominica, Galapagos Adaları (Ekvator), Gazze Şeridi, Grand Caymans (Büyük Britanya), Grenada, Guam (ABD), Guyana, Hawaii (ABD), Israil, Jamaika, Javis Adası, Johnson Atoll, Kribati (Cumhuriyeti), Liberya, Mikronezya, Midway Adaları, Nauru, Nevis, Nikumaroro (Gardener Adası), Niue (Yeni Zellanda), Northern Mariana Adaları (ABD), Palau (Cumhuriyeti), Filipinler, Porto Riko (ABD), Solomon Adaları, St. Kitts (&Nevis), Independent, St. Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago, Tuvalu, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, Virgin Adaları (ABD), Wake Adası (ABD), West Bank, Batı Samoa, Zaire
"English" sözcüğü Anglelar'dan türedi.
Vikingler birçok Eski Norveç kelimesi getirdiler: Sky, egg, cake, leg, skin, husband, fellow, skill, anger, flat, odd, uply, get, give, take, call, raise, die, their, they, them. Fakat İngilizce "nothyrl" modern dildeki "nostril" oldu. Diğer örnekler: Anger (Norse)-wrath (English), nay-no, fro-from, raise-rear, ill-sick, bask-battle, skill-craft, skin-hide, dike-ditch.

Present Unreal Conditional
Present Unreal Conditional
FORM
[If ... SIMPLE PAST ..., ... would + VERB ...]
or
[... would + VERB ... if ... SIMPLE PAST ...]
USE
The Present Unreal Conditional is used to talk about what you would do in imaginary situations in general.
EXAMPLES:
If I had a car, I would drive to work. But I don't have a car.
She would travel around the world if she had more money. But she doesn't have much money.
I would read more if I didn't have a TV.
Mary would move to Japan if she spoke Japanese.
If they worked harder, they would earn more money.
What would you do if you won the lottery?
I would travel.
Where would you live if you moved to the U.S.?
I would live in Seattle.
EXCEPTION If I were ...
In the Present Unreal Conditional, the form "was" is not considered grammatically correct. In written English or in testing situations, you should always use "were." However, in everyday conversation, "was" is often used.
EXAMPLES:
If he were French, he would live in Paris.
If she were rich, she would buy a yacht.
I would play basketball if I were taller.
I would buy that computer if it were cheaper.
I would buy that computer if it was cheaper. NOT CORRECT (But often said in conversation.)
EXCEPTION Conditional with Modal Verbs
There are some special Conditional forms for modal verbs in English:
would + can = could
would + shall = should
would + may = might
The words "can," "shall" and "may" must be used in these special forms; they cannot be used with "would."
EXAMPLES:
If I went to Egypt, I would can learn Arabic. NOT CORRECT
If I went to Egypt, I could learn Arabic. CORRECT
If she had time, she would may go to the party. NOT CORRECT
If she had time, she might go to the party. CORRECT
The words "could," should," "might" and "ought to" include conditional, so you cannot combine them with "would."
EXAMPLES:
If I had more time, I would could exercise after work. NOT CORRECT
If I had more time, I could exercise after work. CORRECT
If he invited you, you really would should go. NOT CORRECT
If he invited you, you really should go. CORRECT
IMPORTANT : Only use "If"
Only the word "if" is used with the Present Unreal Conditional because you are discussing imaginary situations. "When" cannot be used.
EXAMPLES:
I would buy that computer when it were cheaper. NOT CORRECT
I would buy that computer if it were cheaper. CORRECT
Present Real Conditional
FORM
[If / When ... SIMPLE PRESENT..., ... SIMPLE PRESENT ...]
or
[... SIMPLE PRESENT ... if / when ... SIMPLE PRESENT...]
USE
The Present Real Conditional is used to talk about what you normally do in real-life situations.
EXAMPLES:
If I go to a friend's house for dinner, I usually take a bottle of wine or some flowers.
When I have a day off from work, I often go to the beach.
If the weather is nice, she walks to work.
Jerry helps me with my homework when he has time.
I read if there is nothing on TV.
What do you do when it rains?
I stay at home.
Where do you stay if you go to Sydney?
I stay with my friends near the harbor.
IMPORTANT : If / When
Both "if" and "when" are used in the Present Real Conditional. Using "if" suggests that something happens less frequently. Using "when" suggests that something happens regularly.
EXAMPLES:
When I have a day off from work, I usually go to the beach.
(I regularly have days off from work.)
If I have a day off from work, I usually go to the beach.
(I rarely have days off from work.)
Zero Conditional: certainty
We use the so-called zero conditional when the result of the condition is always true, like a scientific fact.
Take some ice. Put it in a saucepan. Heat the saucepan. What happens? The ice melts (it becomes water). You would be surprised if it did not.
IF condition result
present simple present simple
If you heat ice it melts.
Notice that we are thinking about a result that is always true for this condition. The result of the condition is an absolute certainty. We are not thinking about the future or the past, or even the present. We are thinking about a simple fact. We use the present simple tense to talk about the condition. We also use the present simple tense to talk about the result. The important thing about the zero conditional is that the condition always has the same result.
We can also use when instead of if, for example: When I get up late I miss my bus.
Look at some more examples in the tables below:
IF condition result
present simple present simple
If I miss the 8 o'clock bus I am late for work.
If I am late for work my boss gets angry.
If people don't eat they get hungry.
If you heat ice does it melt?
result IF condition

I am late for work if I miss the 8 o'clock bus.
My boss gets angry if I am late for work.
People get hungry if they don't eat.

Third Conditional: no possibility
The first conditional and second conditionals talk about the future. With the third conditional we talk about the past. We talk about a condition in the past that did not happen. That is why there is no possibility for this condition. The third conditional is also like a dream, but with no possibility of the dream coming true.
Last week you bought a lottery ticket. But you did not win. :-(
condition result
Past Perfect WOULD HAVE + Past Participle
If I had won the lottery I would have bought a car.
Notice that we are thinking about an impossible past condition. You did not win the lottery. So the condition was not true, and that particular condition can never be true because it is finished. We use the past perfect tense to talk about the impossible past condition. We use WOULD HAVE + past participle to talk about the impossible past result. The important thing about the third conditional is that both the condition and result are impossible now.
Sometimes, we use should have, could have, might have instead of would have, for example: If you had bought a lottery ticket, you might have won.
Look at some more examples in the tables below:
IF condition result
past perfect WOULD HAVE + past participle
If I had seen Mary I would have told her.
If Tara had been free yesterday/ I would have invited her.
If they had not passed their exam /their teacher would have been sad.
If it had rained yesterday /would you have stayed at home?
If it had rained yesterday /what would you have done?
result IF condition
WOULD HAVE + past participle past perfect
I would have told Mary if I had seen her.
I would have invited Tara if she had been free yesterday.
Their teacher would have been sad if they had not passed their exam.
Would you have stayed at home if it had rained yesterday?
What would you have done if it had rained yesterday?
Second Conditional: unreal possibility or dream
The second conditional is like the first conditional. We are still thinking about the future. We are thinking about a particular condition in the future, and the result of this condition. But there is not a real possibility that this condition will happen. For example, you do not have a lottery ticket. Is it possible to win? No! No lottery ticket, no win! But maybe you will buy a lottery ticket in the future. So you can think about winning in the future, like a dream. It's not very real, but it's still possible.
IF condition result
past simple WOULD + base verb
If I won the lottery I would buy a car.
Notice that we are thinking about a future condition. We use the past simple tense to talk about the future condition. We use WOULD + base verb to talk about the future result. The important thing about the second conditional is that there is an unreal possibility that the condition will happen.
Here are some more examples:
IF condition result
past simple WOULD + base verb
If I married Mary I would be happy.
If Ram became rich she would marry him.
If it snowed next July would you be surprised?
If it snowed next July what would you do?
result IF condition
WOULD + base verb past simple
I would be happy if I married Mary.
She would marry Ram if he became rich.
Would you be surprised if it snowed next July?
What would you do if it snowed next July?
Sometimes, we use should, could or might instead of would, for example: If I won a million dollars, I could stop working.
First Conditional: real possibility
We are talking about the future. We are thinking about a particular condition or situation in the future, and the result of this condition. There is a real possibility that this condition will happen. For example, it is morning. You are at home. You plan to play tennis this afternoon. But there are some clouds in the sky. Imagine that it rains. What will you do?
IF condition result
present simple WILL + base verb
If it rains I will stay at home.
Notice that we are thinking about a future condition. It is not raining yet. But the sky is cloudy and you think that it could rain. We use the present simple tense to talk about the possible future condition. We use WILL + base verb to talk about the possible future result. The important thing about the first conditional is that there is a real possibility that the condition will happen. Here are some more examples (do you remember the two basic structures: [IF condition result] and [result IF condition]?):
IF condition result
present simple WILL + base verb
If I see Mary I will tell her.
If Tara is free tomorrow he will invite her.
If they do not pass their exam their teacher will be sad.
If it rains tomorrow w ill you stay at home?

Past Perfect Continuous
Bu tense aynı Present Perfect Continuous Tense'de olduğu gibi geçmişte yaşanan ve belirli bir süreci kapsayan eylemleri anlatmak için kullanılır. Fakat bu tense'i kullanmamız için geçmişte yaşanan ve bir süre devam eden eylemin, başka bir eylemden önce yaşanmış olması gerekir.
FORM Past Perfect Continuous
[HAD BEEN] + [VERB+ing]
EXAMPLES:
I had been waiting there for two hours before she finally arrived.
(O vardığında orada iki saattir otobüs beklemekteydim.)
She had only been studying English for two years before she got the job.
(İşe girmeden önce sadece iki yıl boyunca İngilizce çalışmıştı.)
We use the Past Perfect Continuous to show that something started in the past and continued up until another time in the past. "For five minutes" and "for two weeks" are both durations which can be used with the Past Perfect Continuous. Notice that this is related to the Present Perfect Continuous; however, the duration does not continue until now.
EXAMPLES:

EXAMPLES:

(Tony varmadan önce bir saatten fazla bir süredir konuşmaktaydılar.)
She had been working at that company for three years when it went out of business.
(Şirket batmadan önce üç yıldır orada çalışmaktaydı.)
James had been teaching at the University for more than a year before he left for Asia.
(James Asya'ya gitmek için ayrılmadan önce bir yıldan fazla bir süredir Üniversite'de eğitim veriyordu.)
USE 2 Cause of Something in the Past
(Geçmişteki bir şeyin nedenini belirtmek için)
Using the Past Perfect Continuous before another action in the past is a good way to show cause and effect.

physically and mentally. She had dyed her hair blond and had got thinner. She
had left her parents and had started to earn her own living.
When her marriage was breaking up, she remembered her father's words. He
had warned her against the difficulties of taking on the responsibility of
marriage, and he had told her that she was too young to face them. She
hadn't listened to him then and had got married. She now realized how right
he had been.
Ancak, amaç geçmişteki olayları sadece akış sırasına göre vermekse, Past Perfect kullanmak
gerekmez.
She wanted to get married when she was only eighteen. Her father objected to
it. He warned her against the difficulties of taking on the responsibility of
marriage at such an early age, but she didn't listen to him and got married.
Bazı durumlarda ise Simple Past ya da Past Perfect kullanılması anlam değişikliğine yol açar.
1.When we arrived at the farm house, I warned her to beware of the dog.

Present Perfect Continuous Tense
Present Perfect Tense ile Continuous arasında kullanım açısından bazı farklılıklar olsa da, work ve live gibi bazı fiilerde iki tense'in kullanımı da aynıdır.
Örneğin aşağıdaki iki cümle de doğrudur.
I have been working in this company for four years.
(Dört yıldır bu şirkette çalışıyorum.)
I have worked in this company for four years
(Dört yıldır bu şirkette çalışıyorum.)
FORM Present Perfect Continuous

EXAMPLES:
I have been waiting here for two hours.
(İki saattir burada beklemekteyim/bekliyorum.)
She has only been studying English for two years.
(O sadece iki yıldır İngilizce çalışmaktadır.)
We use the Present Perfect Continuous to show that something started in the past and has continued up until now. "For five minutes", "for two weeks", and "since Tuesday" are all durations which can be used with the Present Perfect Continuous.
[COLOR=#cc3300][FONT=Verdana](Present Perfect Continuous tense geçmişte başlamış bir şeyin şu ana kadar devam ettiğini belirtmek için kullanılır. "Beş dakika boyunca", "iki hafta boyunca" veya "Salı gününden beri" gibi zaman ifade eden kalıplar bu tense ile kullanılır.)

She has been working at that company for three years.
(Üç yıldır bu şirktte çalışmaktadır.)
James has been teaching at the University since June.
(James Haziran ayından beri üniversitede öğretmektedir.)
USE 2Recently, Lately
(Son zamanlarda)
You can use the Present Perfect Continuous WITHOUT a duration such as "for five minutes", "for two weeks", and "since Tuesday". Without the durations, the this tense gives a more general meaning of "lately". We often use the words "lately" or "recently" in the sentence to strengthen this meaning.
(Present Perfect Continuous tense aynı zamanda "beş dakika boyunca" gibi bir süreç belirtmeden de kullanılabilir. Bu zaman ifade eden kalıpları kullanmadığımızda cümlede "son zamanlarda" anlamı vardır ve daha geneldir. Anlamı kuvvetlendirmek için cümlelerimizde "recently" veya "lately" (son zamanlarda) gibi kelimeler kullanılır.)
EXAMPLES:
Recently, I have been feeling really tired.
(Son zamanlarda kendimi gerçekten yorgun hissediyorum.)
She has been watching too much television lately.
(Son zamanlarda çok fazla TV seyrediyor.)
Mary has been feeling a little depressed.
(Mary kendini biraz depresyonda hissediyor.)
IMPORTANT Non-Continuous Verbs/ Mixed Verbs
It is important to remember that Non-Continuous Verbs cannot be used in any continuous tenses. To express the idea of Present Perfect Continuous with these exception verbs, you must use Present Perfect.
(Bu tense'in kullanımına ilişkin hatırlanması gereken önemli bir nokta da şudur. Durağan fiiller, yani içinde herhangi bir eylem bulundurmayan fiiller (sahip olmak gibi) Perfect Continuous Tense ile kullanılamaz. Cümleye bu tense'in anlamını kazandırmak için Present Perfect Tense kullanılır.
EXAMPLES:
Sam has been having his car for two years. Yanlış
Sam has had his car for two years.Doğru
1) Present Perfect Tense (yakın geçmiş zaman) deneyimlerle ilgili konuşurken kullanılmaktadır. Olayları yaşadığımız ya da yaşamadımız önemlidir, ne zaman yaşadığımız önemli değildir. Present Perfect Tense te cümle oluştururken, have ve has yardımcı yardımcı fiilleri ile, ana fiilin üçüncü halini kullanıyoruz.
Örnekler:

Ama never kullanılan cümleyi olumsuz yaptığından ayrıcı olumsuz yapan bir takı getirilmemelidir. Ever da -hiç- anl***** gelmektedir, soru cümlelerinde kullanılır."Sen hiç Amerika"da bulundun mu?" gibi.
2) Present Perfect Tense geçmişte başlayan ve şu ana kadar devam eden olayları anlatmak için de kullanılmaktadır.

- We haven"t seen Janine since Friday. (Janine i cuma gününden beri görmedik.)
- How long have you been at this school? (Ne kadar süredir bu okulda bulunmaktasın?)
Not Bir eylemin ne kadar süredir devam ettiğini söylerken since ya da for kullanırız. Since belli bir zaman, belli bir tarih ya da belli bir gün belirtildiğinde kullanılır. Pazartesiden beri, 1995ten beri gibi. For ise tam kesin zaman belirtilmediğinde kullanılır. Bir kaç gündür, 2 yıldır gibi.
3) Present Perfect Tense aynı zamanda geçmişte meydana gelen ama sonucunu bugün de gördüğümüz olayları anlatmak için kullanılmaktadır.
Örnekler:
- I have lost my wallet. = I don"t have it now.(Cüzdanımı kaybettim = Şu an cüzdanım yok.)
- Jimmy has gone to South America. = He isn"t here now. (Jimmy Güney America"ya gitti = şimdi burda değil.)
- Have you finished your homework? = Is your homework ready?(Ödevini bitirdin mi? = Şu an hazır mı?)
Not: Present Perfect Tense te geçmişte olup şu an sonucu görülen eylemler için sıklıkla just, already ve yet kullanılır.
JUST : Henüz, biraz önce demektir, olumlu cümlelerde kullanılır.

FORM Present Perfect Continuous
[HAS / HAVE] + [BEEN] + [VERB+ing]
EXAMPLES:
They have been talking for the last hour.
(Son iki saattir konuşuyorlar.)
